Recently, two new sets of plushes were released, Teostra and Gravios. As with the last set of Monster Hunter plushes that have been released, each of these guys came in both a standard “UFO Catcher” size plush and a keyring variety. Now, since they are approcimately the same, I’m going to focus on the larger ones.
So, let’s start with Gravios.

This guy is huge in comparison to all the prior plushes that have come out. He also has some hefty weight to him. He’s basically built exactly how you would expect a Gravios to be built, strong and sturdy. I doubt that I’ll see much normal wear and tear from him as I might see with other plushes that I’ve had through the years.
This guy also has a great amount of sculpting to his figure. I feel like whoever designed him put a nice job in giving him detail and character. About the only thing that I can complain about is that his mouth seems to have been thrown together lazily. It’s just this little flap that doesn’t look as developed as the rest of the plush. I also had a bit of hot glue still hanging off the larger version when I opened the package.
Still, I feel as if he is a plush well worth the money.

Next is Teostra, which is a significantly smaller plush. While he does have as much detail as the other Monster Hunter plushes that have been released, he doesn’t feel as if he has the same level of sculpting as Gravios received. There’s a bit around the face, but otherwise, he’s a rather plain figure.
I also have a love-hate relationship with the nature of the mane’s hair. The line had previously used this sort of foofy hair with Rajang, and it worked since it was a single color. However, since this guy’s mane has multiple colors and also has sculpted horns that frame it, the wild-nature of this type of fur is not fully appealing. However, it does give the feel of a wild mane.
If you want to take a peak at the other pictures of these guys, here’s the full set of shots that I took after opening them up.
